Over the course of 30 plus years I’ve struggled with next to zero energy, bouts of depression/anxiety, weight issues, poor digestion and terrible acne ( the list goes on). For most of us, dealing with these kinds of health issues becomes a new “normal”……..it’s just a part of life, right? linking my diet to my state of well being wasn’t even on my radar! For the most part I was blaming my genetics. In my family, I’ve heard/ seen many debilitating diseases that had an early onset and had even taken a family member at an early age.
It wasn’t until I stared to see the contrast in my father’s life compared to the rest of his family. He seemed much healthier, had a positive outlook on life, worked full time and still had energy to go for his 10k-plus ( uphill) bike rides!! His diet was different from that of the rest of his family. I credit most of that to his lovely, health loving wife, my stepmother. I’m truly grateful for my parents. Through their diet and lifestyle, they have shown me that just because disease runs in a family, doesn’t mean that that too will be your fate.
I was really intrigued by the power that food has over us ( good and bad). This set the spark that started a new journey into becoming a healthier version of myself. As time went by I found I had more energy, it felt like there wasn’t enough time in the day to do all the things I wanted to do (it still feels that way). With all this new found energy coupled with the desire to help others, I decided to go back to school to study natural nutrition and in that time I’ve grown and learned so much. It is my passion to try and help you overcome the things that are dragging you down, preventing you from becoming the healthiest version of yourself!
